Medical equipment installation and commissioning
Phase 07 of 09 6–16 weeks

Installation & Commissioning

Turning equipment into a working clinical environment

Overview

What this phase accomplishes

Installation is where every assumption from architecture, engineering and procurement is tested against reality. Phase 07 supervises every install, runs acceptance testing and produces the documentation that regulators and accreditation bodies require before patients arrive.

What we deliver

  • Site-preparation review — civil readiness, power, gases, network, environmental conditions per vendor requirements
  • Installation supervision against the published vendor procedure and the agreed-upon clinical workflow
  • Acceptance testing of every device against contractual specifications, with deviations documented and resolved
  • Calibration of imaging, lab and physiological-measurement equipment with traceable standards
  • Validation of clean rooms, sterile-supply lines, HVAC pressure relationships and isolation rooms
  • Regulatory-compliance documentation per local Ministry of Health and international standards (ISO 13485, IEC 60601-series)
Challenges this phase resolves

Where projects typically fail — and how we fix it

Common pitfall

Vendors install in isolation and miss integration with the wider system

How we solve it: One coordinator runs the install schedule across all vendors, with integration testing at the seams
Common pitfall

Acceptance testing is rushed because the launch date is fixed

How we solve it: Acceptance test windows are reserved on the master schedule from the procurement contract onwards
Deliverables

What the client receives at the end

Every phase exits with concrete artifacts. These deliverables become inputs to the next phase, the project record for the client, and the evidence base for regulators and investors.

  1. 01Installation logs per equipment line
  2. 02Signed acceptance test reports
  3. 03Calibration certificates and validation reports
  4. 04Regulatory-compliance dossier ready for inspection
