Overview

The uMammo 890i is United Imaging's flagship mammography platform — pushing digital breast tomosynthesis into a new image-quality / dose balance. The CMOS detector (49.5 μm pixel pitch, 10.1 lp/mm spatial resolution) uses on-pixel amplification to enhance SNR vs traditional a-Si detectors — amplifying signal but not noise. Two acquisition modes target different clinical questions: 40° wide-angle DBT captures 21 projections in a single scan with high in-depth resolution (best for diagnostic exams + dense breasts), and 15° narrow-angle screening mode cuts scan time 30–40 % for population screening, generating DBT images plus synthesized U-view 2D in 30 seconds. uDose full-panel AEC covers the entire glandular area for accurate per-density exposure — including breasts with implants, heterogeneously dense and extremely dense breasts. Clinical dose reduction: 40 % vs conventional FFDM, 30 % vs conventional DBT (AGD 0.62 mGy FFDM, 1.04 mGy DBT). uStereo biopsy uses Multiview parallax (±15°) for ±1 mm target accuracy, with both vertical and horizontal approaches. AI BI-RADS — 4-step report in 1 minute: gland-type analysis, lesion detection, size/shape/density measurement, BI-RADS report. GRACE reading workstation with customizable DBT slice thickness and dedicated mammography keypad. Automatic image cropping reduces storage + transmission 70 %.
